Google I/O Interactive Opening - Bubbles
The Who, What, Why
Hundreds of thousands of people tune in every year to the livestream of Google's yearly developer conference, Google I/O. But those watching the livestream at home have a very different experience from those in person at Shoreline Amphitheater.
We created an experience that brought the global I/O developer community into the amphitheater.
People all over the world sent bubbles through their phones onto the big screen at Shoreline Amphitheater in a joyful celebration of the global developer community. Halfway through, those participating were split into four teams and competed against each other in a global bubble game.
Activated across live, web, mobile, and social. Resulted in 77k simultaneous participants in 171 countries around the world, and attributed to 10% of social conversation on #io17.
